The Stole collection "AHAI" is inspired by the Japanese concept of "Kasane no Irome ". Which literally means "combination of colour created by the layering of garments". This way of wearing the kimono was utilized during the 7th-12th century, (The Heian Era): Especially popular amongst aristocrats. There were many combinations of kimono colour depending upon the season and occasion. The beauty of the colour combination and the tying of the sash through the kimono define the aesthetic sensibility of this stole creation. This stole is knitted as jacquard and plain jersey; double faced with an harmonious colour contrast. The design incorporates several spaces between the jacquard and plain jersey fabrics. Allowing access for either the head or the arm. Or the intertwining of the other side of the stole. Thus creating an unique form around the neck or body. A different combination for each occasion, as desired. The japanese word "AHAI" means ; the relationship between space, time, object, colour and human.
